Special networking meeting for a chance to get to know FEBA members and guests and their businesses. February 12, 2008: Mr. Matt Mikolajewski, Office of Business Resources Manager for the City of Madison, presents an update on the development of a Strategic Economic Development Implementation Plan for the City. Mr. Mikolajewski will talk about the process of developing a plan for economic development in Madison, and the outcome of listening sessions held with stakeholders in Madision during Nov-Dec 2007. March 11, 2008: What's New At the Dane County Regional Airport. Dane County Regional
Airport is the gateway to the Madison area. More than 100 commercial flights
depart and arrive daily, promoting the exchange of ideas, products, and
investment opportunities between south central Wisconsin and the globe.
Growing numbers of travelers and businesses in south central Wisconsin rely
on the Dane County Regional Airport each day, making it a prominent part of
the community and the region’s economy. Sharyn Wisniewski, Marketing
Communications Manager, will talk to us about what’s new and what’s planned
for the future at the Dane Country Regional Airport. April 8, 2008: Marla Gamoran and Jennifer Bakke from Madison Area
Technical College’s Business, Industry, and Community Services department
will present an overview of continuing education and recruiting
opportunities that Madison Area Technical College provides for
businesses. May 13, 2008: Captain Cameron McLay from the North Police
District of the Madison Police Department will be presenting an update on
initiatives of the North Police District. June 10, 2008: Robin Pharo of Healthy Home Reports will present
easy ways for you and your business to go green. 2007 MEETING & EVENTS SCHEDULE February 13, 2007: "Meet the Candidates" forum featuring candidates for city alder from Far Eastside districts. March 14, 2007: "Mayoral Candidate Forum" special event held jointly with the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce and other local business organizations. April 10, 2007: "Future Business/Commercial Development on the East Side of Madison" with presentations from Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk and Terrence Wall, President of T. Wall Properties. May 8, 2007: "Planning the Future of Transportation in Madison and Dane County" featuring presentations by Rob Phillips, City of Madison Engineering Division and Dave Trowbridge, City of Madison Planning & Development. June, July, August 2007: SUMMER BREAK, no regular membership meetings during summer months; regular monthly meetings begin again in September. September 11, 2007: Joe Grande, Water Quality Manager from the Madison Water Utilit, will present an update and answer questions about water quality issues in Madison. October 9, 2007: "The Business of Running the University of Wisconsin Athletic Department" with guest speaker John Jentz, Associate Athletic Director. November 13, 2007: FEBA Holiday Gathering. December 11, 2007: No December meeting. Monthly meetings resume in January.
